COVID-19 Christmas Planning
As much as we would like things to be “business as usual” this holiday season, planning your holiday festivities may require a bit more effort this year. Many people are questioning whether they should participate in their normal holiday traditions due to safety concerns caused by COVID-19. For those who are planning to carry on with the celebration, here are some tips to keep your friends and family safe this holiday season.
The biggest key to celebrating safely is keeping your guest list small. If you invite fewer people into your home, your chances of contracting the virus are smaller. It is important to check the CDC’s COVID-19 guidelines to ensure that you are taking the appropriate steps to keep everyone safe. It is also a good idea to monitor the number of cases in your area. This can make the decision of how and where to celebrate much easier. If there are many cases in a certain area, it is best to avoid traveling to that region. Although the temperatures are dropping every day, outdoor gatherings are considered safer than indoor gatherings. If it is not possible to host your festivities outside, make sure that the room you choose is large and well ventilated.
If traveling is not on your list of things to do this holiday season, you can still show your family and friends that you are thinking of them in other ways. For example, you can send out holiday cards with a nice message inside. For those of you who are tech-savvy, a holiday zoom call could be done with family and friends (good luck teaching grandma what zoom is, I have tried!!) There are so many ways to get creative with your holiday celebration this year. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy holiday season!
